The Spartan Men's team was established in September 2021 prior to the start of the Volleyball Ireland League season 2021/22. It was the combination of local youth, university students, and the transfer of experienced regional volleyball players that led to the creation of the Spartan men's team, led by club co-founder, Benny O'Regan.Through a request made to Volleyball Ireland and accepted by Competitions Commission, the team found itself in their first league season straight into Premier Division. With both short term and long term objectives in mind for the greater good of male volleyball, given the mixture of youth and experience within the locality on the team, the Spartan Men's team are currently competing against the best teams Ireland has to offer.
The rise in participation has led to the creation of a second men's team in the Irish National League this season, mostly consisting of our youth players.
The Men's team training is every Wednesday 7-10pm in The Watershed where it attracts big numbers regularly, while an extra training for players takes place on Fridays 8-10pm, mixing with other club members and work on their technical skills at Social Volley. If you are interested to become a competitive Spartan, go to the Contact Us page.
